Ryde-Eastwood Chess Club First Tournament for 2021

Dear Members,

Our first tournament for the year will be a 9 round Rapid, held over three weeks,
There will be 3 rounds each Wednesday, starting at 7:30pm

The time limit will be 20 min + 10 sec per move. 

We are still situated in the Sports Bar downstairs and as previously advised numbers are limited to a total of 30 people.

If you are interested in playing in this tournament, please do a “Reply All” to email you received from me. If you did not receive email. please contact me.

Those that are accepted will have their entry confirmed.

Also note that if you want to compete you must be a current member of Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club, pay your Chess Club membership fee before the 1st game and be a member or a registered player of NSWCA.

Great News! Ryde-Eastwood Chess Club Resuming OTB Play!

Dear Members,

Chess will be resuming at Ryde Eastwood on Wednesday 24th February.
At this time there will only be social games.

We will be situated in the Sports Bar downstairs and numbers are limited to a total of 30 people.

Also we will be instituting COVID-safe practices. For details please refer to the document, 
RELC CC COVID Safety Plan (see here).

COVID-19 Update

As the Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club is still closed, all chess remains suspended until further notice

Chess at Ryde Eastwood Suspended until 6th May

Dear Members,

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic the executive of the Chess Club has decided to suspend all chess activities of the Ryde Eastwood Chess Club until the end of April.

At this time, it is planned to resume on Wednesday 6th May with the Club Championship continuing from round 2.
I will issue a new version of the 2020 calendar at that time.

If we need to suspend chess at Ryde Eastwood past the end of April, we will be notify you.

Ryde-Eastwood Chess Club - 2019 Club Championship

Dear Members,

Our club championship starts this Wednesday 4th March.

There will be one game played each Wednesday and depending on the number of entries the tournament could run for the next 8 to 10 weeks.

The start time for each round is 7:30pm with a forfeit time of 60 minutes.

The time limit for each game will be 90 minutes plus 10 seconds per move.

Note in line with the decision made at the recent AGM, no entries will be accepted on the night.

If you would like to play in the tournament you need to respond to this email.

Please let me know before 7.00pm Tuesday 3rd March.

If you have not paid your 2020 membership then this needs to be paid prior to the first round.
